General Requirements:
- At least 5 years of work experience in rail operations/transportation, including experience in a managerial or supervisory position;
- Advanced proficiency in office software applications;
Effective Business and Interpersonal communication skills;
Ability to manage and perform multiple tasks simultaneously;
Strong leadership and team management skills; - Strong self management and organizational skills;
- Fluency in Georgian and English is a must both written and spoken.
Short Job Description:
- Structuring and developing the Railway Department, implementing operational processes, and evolving the operational model.
- Participating in recruitment and hiring, delegating roles and responsibilities, evaluating performance, motivating staff, and promoting professional development.
- Organizing, coordinating, and supervising daily railway operations for Medlog Poti, including train scheduling, loading/unloading, and freight flow management.
- Ensuring effective collaboration with Georgian Railway, customs authorities, transport companies, clients, logistics partners, internal departments, and other key stakeholders.
- Planning and allocating locomotives, wagons, equipment, and human resources efficiently to maximize operational effectiveness.
- Ensuring compliance of railway operations with local and international standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Developing and implementing operating procedures, safety protocols, and work instructions, as well as organizing regular staff training.
- Monitoring the technical condition of railway infrastructure, rolling stock, and equipment, while planning and controlling inspections and maintenance/repair works.
- Tracking KPIs, analyzing operational data, evaluating costs, transit times, and productivity, as well as preparing and submitting periodic reports to senior management.
- Promptly identifying, analyzing, and resolving rail traffic delays, accidents, incidents, and logistical challenges to ensure business continuity.
